Wedding excitement
No pictures on the blog today since it seems to be malfunctioning. I wanted to write about our wedding today since I am getting pretty excited about it. It is already less than 10 months until May 26, 2006! Anyhow, I hope that everyone can make it to Atlanta because I am sure it will be a blast.
There are plenty of things to do like the Georgia Aquarium and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Here are some pictures and video from our visit of a whale shark in a 6.2 million gallon tank, a jellyfish, and a cuttlefish. If you look closely you can see the colors change on the cuttlefish. Wicked. Here are some pictures of the Botanical Gardens. I would highly recommend going to both of these places, but if you don't want to spend too much money at the Aquarium and fight the crowds, the Gardens have an impressive display of orchids, pitcher plants and tons of other plants, both indoors and outdoors.
We are thinking about chartering a bus so you don't have to drive. I believe it would be 12 - 13 hours and hopefully not too expensive. I don't know how interested anyone is in this, but if you are interested, send me an email or post on the Chatterbox tagboard to the right here and let me know if you would be up for that and for how long you would want to stay in Atlanta, i.e. Thursday to Monday and we can set something up for whatever most people want. I can't wait to see you all in Atlanta and I'm sorta looking forward to sealing the deal with my main squeeze Meaghan!

2006 Sunset Open
This past weekend I travelled back to Dickeyville to golf with my uncle Tom, his son Rhett and my cousin Ben. We shot our best score ever, an even par 71, which is pretty good for a team of 4 hacks! Ben started out saving our arses quite frequently by hitting some greens and then we all started to chip in except for two holes where we completely fell apart. The weather was hot and muggy, but a good time was had by all.

Pearl Jam
June 29th, Ben and I went to see Pearl Jam / Tom Petty and some pretty sweet fireworks. June 30th, my brother Geno and I got to see Pearl Jam /Tom Petty. Both nights Eddie & Co. opened for Petty at Summerfest here in Milwaukee and both nights Eddie came out to sing "The Waiting" and "American Girl" with Petty. I thought he did an amazing job covering Petty's songs. Pearl Jam were great both nights and Petty surprised me a little bit. He is still able to put on a great show after 30 years. Here are a few of the pictures that Ben and I took on Thursday as well as a picture of Petty that Geno & I got on Friday night.

Great Horned Owls
Mike and I went for a walk behind the house last night to try and catch a few smallmouth bass and drink a few beers and on the way back we came across a couple of Great Horned Owl juveniles. A guy that we met, Jerry, mentioned that they were 5 months old and will be getting quite a big larger, so I am excited to get some pictures of them. I'll try to get them on this series of tubes that they call the Internet. In the meantime here are a few pictures from our trip to San Francisco:
Meags and I at Lone Cypress Tree at Pebble Beach.
Meags and an old dead cypress tree.
I finally get to see a giant redwood at Muir Woods National Monument!!
Some flowers along the beach on Highway 1 somewhere.

Napa Valley
Ahhhhh, Napa Valley. Great wine, great champagne, cocky roosters and flirtatious Mute swans. Man, was that girl ever hitting on me....

The vines at Cline. One of very few FREE wine tastings!
Meags and I enjoy champagne and some sort of red wine overlooking the vines at Gloria Ferrer.

Rabbits and Mexico
What do baby rabbits have in common with drunken fools in Mexico? Nothing, I just remembered that this little guy was my new neighbor for a couple of days as his mother thought it was a good idea to give birth in Ben Steller's front yard. Remy and Deuce sure loved that game! Anyhow, I think we saved most of the little guys and put them in the field at the end of the lane where they were promptly eaten by wild dogs.... I'm sure that last part isn't entirely true.

No caption needed, this one explains itself.
I'm really not sure what the connection is with Ben and Mike, but it is kind of disturbing...
Don't you think?

Geno & Julie's new son!
On Sunday July 16th, I became an uncle for the 5th time and more importantly, Geno and Julie had their 2nd baby boy, Owen Gilbert, 9 lb. 4 oz. and full of dark hair. Congrats!!

The main man himself, Owen.
Here's a video of Geno's other crazy boy, Wil on a slip and slide. That's some crazy spitting man!! Now that's just goofy.

As I sit in front of this plastic and metal contraption wondering if anyone will ever look at this blog o' mine, I can't help but want to run back to the Boundary Waters and slow down for a little while. There is something about working your butt off all day to sit around a campfire at night watching Aurora Borealis and listening to an iPod in the middle of nowhere with great friends. These are just a few of my favorite pictures from that trip and really remind me of the unforgettable time I had.
First mission accomplished! More to come...
Chris, give it up, we all know you can't play guitar.
:)
I can't take credit for this one. All Chris. Awesome photo! This is just our mediocre view from our campsite on Larch Lake.
Robbie truly made me proud on this one even though he made me look bad by catching a smallmouth that had to be TWICE as big as my best bass. Woohoo, that is some beaut!! I know people who are jealous of this beast.
You can see Mike struggle with a canoe here! Sorry Mike, I had to....
