New York
Meaghan did it, she finished the marathon in under 4 hours. Even though the clock says 4:01:35, her official time was 3:58:46. The clock only estimates their time as everyone crosses the starting line at a different time. There is a chip on their shoe to keep track of each runner's individual time. It's difficult to admit it and even more difficult to keep from tearing up, but i'm very proud of Meaghan. I know for a fact that I couldn't run non-stop for 4 hours, much less run 26.2 miles in that amount of time. Maybe if there was a lifetime supply of Macaroni & Cheese and Riverwest Stein awarded for finishing I might be able to, but I don't think we'll ever find out if I could do it.
We did get to see Meaghan in Brooklyn, but we were not able to make it back to Manhattan and Central Park in time to see her at the end of the race. The subway was a little crazy that day and I got to experience firsthand what the rats feel like in New York.New York was pretty exciting and we got to see Times Square, Rockefeller Center and put on a few miles walking around. I have to say my favorite of all that we saw was the Broadway show "The Producers" by Mel Brooks at the St. James Theatre. It was pretty exciting and funny and I even sneaked in a few pictures without getting caught.
